Job summary

NORTH EASTERN TRUCKING INC is seeking a safety-conscious truck driver with AZ/Class 1 license to join our on-site team in Canada. The role involves operating and maintaining vehicles, loading and unloading goods, and collaborating with dispatch to plan efficient routes.

No prior experience is required as training is provided; candidates must be able to travel cross-border and meet safety standards for long-haul operations in a two-person team.

Qualifications

• Secondary school graduation or equivalent experience.
• No experience required; on-the-job training provided.

Responsibilities

• Calculate fixed assets and depreciation.
• Calculate the cost of truck repairs and new parts if needed.
• Plan or adjust routes using GPS to minimize fuel use and emissions.
• Mountain driving expertise.
• Professionalism in customer service.
• Arrange travel and reservations as needed.
• Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy.
• Drive lighter, special purpose trucks.
• Load and unload goods.
• Operate and drive trucks to transport goods and materials.
• Inspect vehicle condition (tires, lights, brakes, etc.).
• Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption.
• Tarp and secure cargo for transit.
• Handle dangerous goods when required.
