Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. in Ottawa is seeking an AZ Operator for the Emergency Response division to operate and maintain heavy vehicles and equipment for environmental cleanup and spill response.

This is a unionized, on-site role with overtime and on-call weekend requirements. The ideal candidate holds a valid AZ license, a Truck Driving School certification, and Hazmat Technician training.

Qualifications

• AZ license and ability to operate heavy equipment.
• Certification from a recognized Truck Driving School.
• Hazmat technician training and safety awareness.
• Capable of manual transmission driving and physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Respond to environmental spills and industrial incidents.
• Operate and maintain heavy vehicles and equipment for cleanup.
• Work with police, fire, EMS and other stakeholders on scene.
• Complete documentation and follow safety procedures.
