Job summary

Contrans Vrac is hiring an AZ End Dump Tandem Company Driver for Canada/US routes with three openings. The role involves load handling, tarping, and cross-border duties, requiring physical fitness and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

You will be responsible for pre-trip checks, equipment maintenance, and accurate paperwork, reporting any defects to the dispatch team. A valid AZ license and cross-border experience are preferred, with drug/alcohol testing.

Qualifications

• AZ license is mandatory for the role
• Minimum of 1 year heavy haul experience, or 3 years over the road experience

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-trip inspections and checkkingpin release.
• Load and unload bulk/dump products.
• Tarp trailers and secure loads.
• Inspect and clean trailers and equipment.
• Cross-border operations between Canada and the U.S.
• Operate and monitor equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain paperwork (logbooks, trip envelopes) and report defects to dispatch.

Job description

• Type: Full Time - Single - Company Driver
• Route: Canada/US
• Openings: 3

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Pre-trip inspections(Involve walking, bending, lifting and releasing the kingpin from the fifth wheel, approximately 50 pounds pulling force and winding dolly legs up or down, approximately 10 pounds force on the crank)
• Loading and off loading Bulk / Dump products
• Tarping (Opening and closing the trailer tarp on dump trailers, approximately15 pounds force twisting the tarp crank to open and up to 60 pounds pulling to close)
• Cleaning Trailers out (Sweeping the trailer after unloading – climbing,bending and walking.)
• Cleaning Trailers with Frozen product in side
• Removal of cross bows along the top of trailer (Requires hammer to removeall 10 cross bows)
• Climbing in and out of the tractor (approximately but not limiting to 2-4times daily)
• Driving (Driving can vary between 1 to 4 hours sitting and shifting thetransmission)
• Walking on uneven ground at different facilities while loading and off loading
• Dealing with Malfunctioning equipment (Trailer doors could get stuck,Trailer bows not easily coming out, issues with trapping system that may need extra force)
• Knowledge of axle weights
• Safe operation of equipment

Employment Requirements:

• Must be physically fit to climb 12’ in & out of dump trailers, approximately but not
• limiting to 2-4 times daily
• Must be able to lift 20 to 25 kg’s of material in & out of trailers, approximately but not limiting to 2-4 times daily
• Must be able to cross various borders between Canada and the U.S Minimum of 1 years heavy haul experience
• Or 3 years over the road experience Licenses / Certificates: AZ license
• Qualifications / Skills: Good CVOR and good Drivers Abstract
• We require a pre employment drug and alcohol testing.
