Job summary

Myticas Consulting Inc. seeks an experienced Solutions Architect for a long-term engagement in the financial services sector. Hybrid role with some on-site work in Toronto.

The role combines hands-on architecture and technical leadership, bridging solution design and software engineering. You will guide teams, validate designs, review implementations, and drive production readiness across AWS-based systems.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software development experience.
• 3+ years of hands-on Node.js experience in production environments.
• Proven experience in hands-on architecture and leadership roles.
• End-to-end solution architecture across apps, APIs, data, cloud, security, deployment, and support.
• 3+ years in financial services, ideally retail banking or regulated institutions.
• Advanced AWS knowledge: Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, SNS, DynamoDB, CloudWatch, IAM.
• Strong Node.js development with Express.js or NestJS.
• REST APIs, API security, integration patterns, async/event-driven design.
• NoSQL data modelling with DynamoDB or similar.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD, automated testing (Jest/Mocha), modern practices.
• Experience using AI-assisted tools like GitHub Copilot, Claude Code.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end solution design across architecture, APIs, data, cloud infra, security, observability, deployment.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership throughout the lifecycle.
• Lead and mentor development teams through complex implementations.
• Collaborate with lead developers on code design, integration patterns, and non-functional requirements.
• Design, develop, review, and optimize high-performance Node.js apps on AWS.
• Architect serverless/event-driven solutions using AWS services.
• Design scalable API integrations between internal and external systems.
• Develop event-driven architectures with SNS/SQS patterns.
• Design DynamoDB schemas, indexes, and query patterns.
• Establish development standards and conduct critical reviews.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues across domains.
• Partner with DevOps on CI/CD, IaC, promotion, monitoring, and releases.
• Drive performance optimization for Lambda workloads and infra.
• Communicate decisions, risks, and delivery impacts to stakeholders.
• Produce docs for architecture decisions, APIs, and operations.
• Mentor on AWS architecture and Node.js best practices.
• Leverage AI-assisted tools to boost SDLC productivity.
