The opportunity

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Energy Trading and Risk Management systems, with a focus on architecture, design, and implementation. This role requires a deep understanding of the energy markets, risk management practices, and the technical skills to develop and maintain robust AWS / ETRM solutions.

Your Key Responsibilities :

• Lead the design and implementation of AWS Solution Architecture, focusing on databases, data warehouses, ETL processes, integrations, and serverless technologies.
• Design and implement ETRM systems to support energy trading and risk management activities.
• Collaborate with traders, risk managers, and IT teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Ensure the scalability, reliability, and performance of ETRM systems.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance on best practices for ETRM architecture.
• Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies in the energy sector.

To qualify for this role you must have :

Extensive experience with AWS Solution Architecture, with a focus on databases, data warehouses, ETL processes, integrations, and serverless technologies.

Proven experience as an ETRM Architect or similar role in the energy sector.

In-depth knowledge of energy trading, risk management, and ETRM systems.

Strong understanding of financial instruments, derivatives, and risk management principles.

Proficiency in relevant technologies and programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, SQL).

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Strong communication and collaboration skills. Virtuosic diagramming abilities

Ability to manage multiple client engagements simultaneously.

Willingness to travel, as needed, to meet client needs and project commitments.

Preferred Qualifications :

Experience with specific ETRM platforms (e.g., OpenLink, Allegro, Endur).

Knowledge of cloud computing and modern data architectures.

The salary range for this job in British Columbia is $68,000 to $132,000. Individual salaries within this range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and work location city.
