Title : AWS Cloud Engineer + IAC Terraform + Cloud Infra Services

Location : Remote / Canada

Duration : 6-12 Months

Work Time Zone : CST (Candidate must be flexible)

Candidate needs extensive experience designing large-scale event-driven systems using AWS EventBridge as an orchestration layer.

Experience with the following AWS technologies is required:

• AWS EventBridge
• Event sources like S3, DynamoDB, etc.
• Event Schemas
• Event Rules
• IAM Policies and Roles
• Alarms
• CloudWatch queries and reporting
• Terraform for infrastructure as code
• Elasticsearch
• Firehose
• Jenkins experience is a plus

Role: Senior Engineer, Cloud Services - supports the global design, implementation, and maintenance of public cloud infrastructure. Builds and maintains cloud environments to enable scalable shared services. Provides technical engineering and system administration to build resilient cloud infrastructure leveraging cloud-native capabilities like auto-scaling and automation. Requires knowledge in networking, compute, storage, infrastructure as code, configuration management, high availability, disaster recovery, and cloud services. Exercises judgment based on comprehensive analysis. Works on complex problems and projects as an individual contributor.

Responsibilities include:

• Design, develop, and maintain cloud infrastructure, network, and layout.
• Build and maintain cloud platform infrastructure as code.
• Ensure infrastructure meets security, availability, and reliability standards.
• Collaborate to ensure infrastructure compliance with security policies.
• Implement DevOps standards and best practices.
• Monitor and improve cloud system uptime, performance, and disaster recovery readiness.
• Provide operational, incident, and change reports.

Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Experience:

• 8+ years in IT-related roles.
• 3+ years with application deployment and configuration on public cloud.
• Advanced knowledge of cloud services: monitoring, access, compute, storage, networking, security, database.
• Designing, developing, deploying, and testing cloud architectures.
• Supporting enterprise-wide systems and software in cloud environments.
• Supporting deployment planning and infrastructure configuration for compliance.
• Operational requirements evaluation and solutions for DevOps environments.
• Solid understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Effective collaboration with cloud engineers.
• Knowledge of security and compliance controls.
• Experience with agile methodologies.

Preferred Certifications:

• Cloud Architecture or SysOps certifications.
• CISSP or similar security certifications.
• Knowledge of the insurance industry is a plus.

Technical Skills:

• Application development for cloud platforms: Grails, Angular, Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, Microservices, REST, NodeJS.
• Infrastructure technologies: Terraform, CloudFormation, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Spinnaker.
