Job summary

Aviva Canada is seeking an AVP, Technology & Transformation Risk to lead second-line oversight of technology, data privacy, governance, cybersecurity, and transformation. You will guide risk management, strengthen controls, and support governance practices across the organization, including emerging areas like GenAI and automation.

You'll collaborate with partners to challenge decisions, drive strategic risk oversight, and ensure safe, fair outcomes for customers in a hybrid working environment.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in a relevant field (CS/DS/Math/Business).
• 10+ years in data governance, data management, analytics, or related discipline.
• Strong understanding of Cyber Security frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST).
• Strong data privacy, quality, and regulatory knowledge.
• Clear communication, influencing across levels.

Responsibilities

• Provide second-line oversight of technology, data privacy, data governance and transformation risks.
• Partner with first-line teams to strengthen controls and data practices.
• Lead data risk reviews, deep dives, and risk assessment activities.
• Deliver insight-driven reports highlighting trends and emerging risks.
• Support governance, transparency, and regulatory compliance.
