Reporting directly to the Chief Corporate Administrative Officer (CCAO), the Risk Manager will be responsible for managing the risks under the purview of the CCAO, which includes office management and real estate, internal and external communications, administration, and labour relations. This includes ensuring workplace practices, policies and procedures adhere to relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards.

Risk Controls, Policy & Procedure Responsibilities:

  • Monitor updates to labour laws and regulations at both the federal and provincial levels in Canada.
  • Collaborate with internal Risk Management, Legal and Compliance colleagues as well as business units and other stakeholders to ensure ongoing compliance with changing regulations.
  • Develop and/or update policies and procedures under the purview of the CCAO; and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement strategies to mitigate risks.
  • Conduct testing of processes and documentation to identify weaknesses and adopt a process of continuous improvement.
  • Develop and monitor key risk indicators, metrics and analytics to support risk assessments.
  • Ensure data integrity, maintain appropriate records and manage record retention for the CCAO office.
  • Streamline reporting processes and ensure integrity of any End-User Computing Tools (EUCCs) used in the CCAO office.
  • Lead in self-identifying issues and facilitate process to ensure timely closure of any identified issues.

  • Workplace Committee Report
  • Employer Annual Hazardous Occurrence Report (EAHOR)
  • Workplace Equity Information Management System (WEIMS)
  • Employers Annual Harassment and Violence Occurrence Report (EAHVOR)
  • Accessibility Plan and Progress Report

Skills & Experience:

  • Undergraduate degree in business, human resources, compliance, or another related field
  • Strong Microsoft 365 skills required, including advanced Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • PowerBI experience would be an asset.
  • Nice to have experience using Resolver system
  • 4-6 years of experience within a regulated industry such as finance
  • A strong understanding of federal and provincial employment laws and regulations is essential
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner
  • Ability to analyze data, identify potential issues, and develop solutions
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
