Reporting to the Vice President, Finance and Administration, the AVP Information Technology Services (ITS) and CIO is responsible for setting the vision, leadership, coordination, and advocacy for effective application of information technologies. They make decisions with broad implications for the management and operations of the University. The AVP works closely with the Executive and Senior leadership to ensure ITS plans, implements, and maintains enterprise information systems supporting research, student services, and business operations.
They lead strategy development, build partnerships, and coordinate a holistic ITS enterprise. Responsibilities include overseeing infrastructure investments, project implementation, enterprise information systems, network, security, governance, policy development, and technology adoption guidance.
The ideal candidate will have strategic leadership experience in a large IT department within a complex environment, preferably in post-secondary education. They should be future-focused, agile, technologically adept, and experienced in analyzing and implementing industry best practices. A people-first leadership style with strong team-building, motivation, and succession planning skills is essential. An advanced degree in computer science, educational technologies, business, or related fields is required.
