A leading insurance firm is seeking an experienced leader to elevate their Digital Experience Design team. This role involves managing a diverse team to deliver impactful design solutions, ensuring compliance with best practices while fostering a culture of innovation. Candidates should possess substantial UX/CX leadership experience and a strategic approach to user-centered design.

We’re looking for an experienced leader to motivate, inspire & elevate our Digital Experience Design team – made up of fantastic individuals in Product Design, UX Research, UX Writing & Content Management.
We’re a new function at Aviva within the wider Digital team, and need somebody to help us expand our team and skills to meet the growing need for better digital solutions for our customers across the business.
You’ll manage a team of 13, with 3 direct reports and a budget for staffing, training and tooling. Reporting directly to the VP of Digital.

What you’ll do:Lead and manage the digital experience design team, ensuring the delivery of high quality and impactful digital design solutions, whilst ensuring compliance with internal policies, industry best methodologies and regulatory requirements.
Heighten the reputation of Experience Design within the company, collaborating across the business to help solve our toughest problems & expand the practice of Design Thinking beyond our team.
Contribute to and influence the development of digital experience design strategies aligned to Aviva's overall objectives, ensuring that projects are delivered to the highest quality, so that clients, their businesses and users are constantly delighted by Aviva's excellent design solution delivery.
Accountable for effective budgeting, responsible for performance management and team engagement, responsible for setting standards, development, implementation and monitoring of process improvement, promote training and education at all levels, lead projects beyond the scope of the team.
Collaborate with internal and external partners to understand business needs and translate them into design solutions, responsible for managing the brand, visuals and creative endeavours, drive growth and strategic planning by evolving the organisation into the digital age, uphold a high level of visibility in the digital design community.
Keep up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies and design methodologies to drive innovation and maintain competitive edge, provide strategic guidance on emerging opportunities and threats, whilst fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement and reporting on department's performance to senior management.
7+ years experience in UX or CX roles, with at least 3 years of people leadership experience
Expertise in user-centered design, with a portfolio demonstrating a history of impactful, data-informed product design decisions
Experience managing change in a complex organization as well as experience at a leader in customer experience for their industry (high-growth startup, big tech etc)
Exceptional communication skills, with a demonstrated track-record of influencing whole organizations to change the ways they work
Excellent problem-solving skills
An ability to create a non-hierarchical culture of collaboration, visibility, and trust throughout a team
Strategic approach and operational acumen, able to balance visionary thinking with hands-on execution and team development
