Job summary

Volatus Aerospace seeks an Avionics/Systems Integration Engineer to support integration, testing, and certification of avionics and mission systems on an aerospace platform moving through productization and flight test. The role is onsite in Canada (Mirabel region) with a 40-hour work week.

You will collaborate with structural, propulsion, and software teams to resolve cross-subsystem issues, support certification activities, and participate in design reviews to influence avionics architecture

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Avionics, Aerospace, or Systems Engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience in avionics integration or systems engineering, ideally in aerospace or defence.
  • Experience with avionics hardware/software integration and interface testing.
  • Familiarity with systems engineering practices, including requirements traceability and ICDs.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware/software/system boundaries.
  • Canadian Security Clearance is required.

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking an Avionics/Systems Integration Engineer to support the integration, testing, and certification of avionics and mission systems on an aerospace platform moving through productization and flight test

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Integrate avionics and mission systems hardware and software into the platform, ensuring compliance with system requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Avionics, Aerospace, or Systems Engineering
  • 3+ years of experience in avionics integration or systems engineering, ideally in aerospace or defence
  • Experience with avionics hardware/software integration and interface testing
  • Familiarity with systems engineering practices, including requirements traceability and ICDs
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware/software/system boundaries
  • Canadian Security Clearance is required
PREFFERD QUALIFICATION
  • Experience with uncrewed aerial systems (UAS) avionics integration
  • Familiarity with aerospace certification standards (e.g., STANAG 4671, AEP-4671, or equivalent)
  • Experience supporting flight test campaigns
HOURS OF WORK AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • The position is an onsite role, and the Employee is required to perform their duties primarily at the Company’s designated workplace, as directed by the Company.
  • The standard work schedule consists of forty (40) hours per week, typically performed Monday to Friday, subject to operational requirements.
  • From time to time, the Employee may be required to maintain reasonable flexibility in working hours to support operational needs, time-sensitive activities, or business priorities.

RESPONSABILITÉS CLÉS
  • Intégrer l'avionique et le matériel et les logiciels des systèmes de mission dans la plateforme, garantissant ainsi la conformité aux exigences du système
  • Soutenir les tests d'intégration au niveau des systèmes, le dépannage des interfaces et les problèmes d'interopérabilité entre les sous-systèmes
  • Développer et exécuter des procédures d'essai d'intégration et soutenir les activités de préparation aux essais en vol
  • Maintenir la documentation de contrôle d'interface (CID) pour l'avionique et les systèmes de mission
  • Collaborer avec les équipes structures, propulsion et logiciels pour résoudre les problèmes d'intégration inter-sous-systèmes
  • Soutenir les activités de certification liées aux systèmes avioniques, y compris les preuves d'essai et la documentation
  • Participer aux revues de conception et fournir des avis techniques sur les décisions d'architecture avionique
QUALIFICATION REQUISE
  • Licence en génie électrique, avionique, aérospatial ou systèmes
  • 3+ ans d'expérience en intégration avionique ou en ingénierie des systèmes, idéalement dans l'aérospatiale ou la défense
  • Expérience avec l'intégration matérielle/logiciel avionique et les tests d'interface
  • Familiarité avec les pratiques d'ingénierie des systèmes, y compris la traçabilité des exigences et les DCI
  • Solides compétences en dépannage au-delà des frontières matérielle/logiciel/système
  • Une habilitation de sécurité canadienne est requise
QUALIFICATION PRÉFÉRÉE
