Job summary

College of the North Atlantic (Gander Campus) invites applications for an Aircraft Maintenance Engineering instructor with emphasis on avionics. The role involves delivering practical and theoretical teaching, guiding student progress, and applying accredited instructional strategies in a shop and classroom environment.

The position may include telework options within the province; however, on-site presence at the Gander Campus is expected, with eligibility for Canada-wide or provincial teaching

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering with a valid Canadian AME license Cat E is required.
  • B.Ed. (Secondary/Post-Secondary) or eligibility is expected for teaching credentials.
  • Five years of recent relevant work experience in aviation maintenance and teaching is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide instruction and evaluate student progress by planning, organizing, and managing learning activities in classroom and shop settings.
  • Adapt lesson plans using approved strategies to meet course objectives and support student learning outcomes.
  • Participate in accreditation activities to ensure program quality and maintain safety standards.
