Job summary

CMC Electronics is seeking an experienced FMS Software Developer to join the Navigation Software Development team in Montréal. You will design, develop and validate avionics software for Flight Management Systems, collaborating with internal teams and customers.

The role requires a solid background in real-time embedded systems, C/C++, and knowledge of civil/military avionics standards; DO-178 and ARINC 429/653 familiarity is a plus.

Qualifications

• Hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical, aerospace or computer engineering, or the equivalent.
• Strong communication skills, initiative, and the ability to coordinate problem solving within a team.
• Experience with real-time embedded systems and hardware/software integration is required.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development of new avionics software solutions for civil or military aviation.
• Create software architecture that evolves with products.
• Participate in all phases of software development (design, code, documentation, testing).
• Ensure validation and verification of principles and translate design into software and tests.
• Contribute to all phases of the system development life cycle (requirements, design, development, validation, deployment).
