Job summary

Avmax Group is a Calgary-based aviation company seeking a full-time Avionics Electronics Technician to join the Avionics division. The role involves maintenance, repair and modification on bench and on aircraft under supervision, with responsibility to sign off work once completed.

You will report to the Avionics Shop Manager and participate in training while maintaining safety, reporting defects, and upholding Avmax values and mission in daily activities.

Qualifications

  • Familiar with troubleshooting electronics and electro-mechanical components and systems.
  • Currently attending a TAC accredited program for Electronics Engineering Technology or Technician or completed an accredited program.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with others across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out maintenance, repair and modification on bench and on aircraft as assigned and supervised by a licensed or lead technician.
  • Sign work sheets and work cards for completed tasks accurately.
  • Report unserviceable equipment to licensed or lead technician and notify defects during routine maintenance.
  • Attend training courses as assigned by management and ensure a safe, clean work environment.
  • Promote company values, vision and mission; perform other duties as assigned.

Reporting

The Avionics Electronics Technician reports directly to the Avionics Shop Manager.

Key Performance Indicators / Duties & Responsibilities
  • Carry out maintenance, repair and modification on bench and on aircraft as assigned to them and as required under supervision by a licensed or lead technician.
  • Ensure all maintenance and safety precautions are observed when carrying out assigned activities.
  • Sign work sheets and work cards for work accomplished - completely and accurately.
  • Report unserviceable equipment to their assigned licensed technician and/or lead technician.
  • Notify assigned licensed and/or lead technician of all defects discovered during routine maintenance.
  • Communicate when tasks are complete so the next trade can move onto the job.
  • Attending and completing training courses as assigned by company management.
  • Ensure the work environment is safe and clean.
  • Promote company values, vision and mission.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience
  • Currently attending a TAC accredited program for Electronics Engineering Technology or Technician or completed an Electronics Engineering Technologist or Technician accredited program
  • Familiar with troubleshooting of electronics and electro-mechanical components and systems
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with other individuals throughout the organization.
