Job description

Position Overview

As part of this project, Calian is looking for an Aviation Instructor to conduct courses at CFB Borden, ON. This is a full-time opportunity (35 hours per week), conducted in an on-site setting.

Responsibilities

  • Provide curriculum for all training requirements
  • Perform instructional duties in accordance with approved techniques, ensuring safety of personnel and equipment
  • Prepare, maintain, and revise lesson plans and student manuals per current guidelines
  • Design and develop activities
  • Assist the course director in advising students and proctoring exams
  • Create entries in the student registry for course reports and advising
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Civilian-Trained Personnel: (A or B)

  • A: Graduation from an aircraft maintenance or gas turbine engine repair program recognized by the Canadian Aviation and Aerospace Council, with three years of experience in aircraft maintenance
  • B: Graduation from a Transport Canada recognized program, with three years of experience as a certified aircraft maintenance engineer, and
  • At least one year of instructional experience in adult education, plus one year of instructional support or related experience
Canadian Forces-Trained Personnel:

  • Qualified AVN or trade level QL 5 (pre-1996)
  • At least one year of instructional experience in adult education, plus one year of instructional support or related experience
Additional Requirements

  • Ability to conduct courses in both English and French
  • Ability to obtain a Secret level Government Security Clearance
