Job summary

Bosch Building Technologies North America is seeking a skilled AV technician to lead large commercial installation projects in Toronto. 3–5 years of AV installation experience and familiarity with Crestron, BiAmp, Cisco, and Extron are expected.

The role involves onsite leadership, mentoring junior technicians, and ensuring safety and quality across projects. CTS certification is encouraged and on-call duties may apply.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret AV functional and construction drawings.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with keen attention to detail.
• Flexibility to work in environments from construction sites to finished corporate offices.
• 3–5 years’ experience installing AV systems; experience from electrical, mechanical, or construction environments will be considered.
• Comfortable working at heights.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
• Proficiency in the use of relevant tools and equipment.
• Valid driver’s license with clean abstract.
• Must be able to pass a background check.
• Can work with minimal supervision
• Willing to start CTS certification program within three months of employment
• Willing to work one on‑call shift per month

We are looking for a technician with 3-5 years of experience in AV to lead large commercial AV installation projects. The successful candidate will have prior experience working with AV systems such as Crestron, BiAmp, Cisco, and Extron.

Responsibilities

• Support, lead, and mentor team members
• Install and service cabling infrastructure and audio/visual devices, including pre‑wiring, installation, termination, testing, reporting, and labeling per specifications and drawings
• Install audio/visual equipment, including: audio and video conferencing equipment, distributed audio, digital signage, sound reinforcement, control systems, public announcement systems, and all presentation systems
• Interact with customers and prospects, ensuring all inquiries are handled professionally
• Ensure that safety and incident reporting procedures are followed
• Complete detailed and accurate paperwork
• Design systems and layouts
• Maintain a high level of safety and professionalism
• Lead projects at a site level and manage a team of junior technicians as necessary
• Other duties as required

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications with Crestron, QSC, CTS, Extron, and BiAmp considered an asset
• Post‑secondary education in electronics, electrical, telecommunications, or equivalent considered an asset

Salary Range: $26.68 – $35.84 DOE

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to stand, climb, walk, sit, push, pull, squat, crawl, and stoop; use hands to finger, handle, feel objects, and type on a keyboard; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear
• Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
• Use of power tools required; occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; may work at heights over 1.8 m (6 ft)

Working Conditions

• Exposed to outdoor weather conditions, work on job sites, and may travel to and from job site locations
• Occasional work in typical office environments and exposure to construction equipment
• Noise level usually moderate; confined space entry and high work may be required
