Qualifications

Job description

Matrix Video Communications is a Canadian audiovisual and media production solutions company that was established back in 1994. This mid-level Installer position will be completing installation tasks for audio visual projects including but not limited to: pulling cable, installing connectors, terminating racks, mounting projectors, screens and video walls.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Review Bill of Materials, Drawings, Project Scope and prepare for site activities
  • Read and interpret electronic schematics and architectural blueprints
  • Perform comprehensive, onsite commercial audio-visual installation including low voltage wiring, rack setup, projector and screen installations, speakers and control systems.
  • Perform cable pulls, solder, crimp and terminate audio, video and network cables
  • Maintain daily communication with Scheduler, Installs Manager and Account Managers on status of project and task lists
  • Must be willing to work out of town, overnight travel will be required on a regular basis
  • Willing to work overtime as needed (time in lieu) to meet promises to clients
Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to work and think independently and work under tight deadlines
  • Read and interpret electronic schematics and architectural blueprints
  • Knowledge of low voltage systems and signal flow for audio, video and control
  • Troubleshooting, quality checks, servicing abilities, problem solving abilities
  • Must be organized and detail oriented
  • Willing to mentor Junior level installers
Education and/or Experience:
  • Minimum of 1 year of audiovisual integration experience
  • Post-secondary education in Electronics, Broadcasting, or a relevant field is preferred
  • Any industry recognized training is preferred: Avixa CTS, CTS-I, Crestron, Biamp, Extron, QSC, Dante
Safety:
  • Bondable, clean driving record
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs and work on ladders and lifts
  • Trade certifications: WHMIS, fall arrest, scissor lift and other safety Certifications
