This is a 12-month contract position with the potential for long-term or permanent employment based on performance and business needs.
Hourly rate: $37.54 CAD
Under the direction of the Shift Supervisor, the Auxiliary Operator (AO) will monitor, adjust, correct, record, log, and control the operation of Energy from Waste Facility. Duties include testing water treatment samples, monitoring Turbo Generation equipment, and communicating with Control Room Operators, Crane, and Utility Operators. The AO will conduct periodic field rounds and operate Pit Cranes as needed.
Position Requirements: DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
The AO will monitor and control plant operations safely and responsibly, operate various systems, perform preventative maintenance, maintain detailed logs, and ensure safety and environmental standards are met. The role also involves training trainees, maintaining cleanliness, and complying with safety policies.
Communication, reasoning, and physical skills are essential, including shift work, handling physical demands, and working in diverse environments with safety considerations.
Requirements: Background in plant operations, Power Engineers Certification (3rd or 4th Class), experience in power plants, safety knowledge, and ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
