Job summary

Qualifications

  • Registered with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario as a Psychologist (C.Psych.) or Psychological Associate (C.Psych.Assoc.).
  • Competent in clinical, school, or clinical child psychology with child/adolescent population.
  • Experience administering, scoring, and interpreting standard measures (WISC-V, WPPSI-IV, WIAT-4, BASC-3, Conners-4, ADOS-2).
  • Strong assessment report writing with school meeting recommendations.
  • Able to deliver difficult news to families with warmth and clarity.
  • Current professional liability insurance and a clear Vulnerable Sector Check.
  • Able to work in person at Thornhill office; some sessions may be virtual.
  • Familiarity with PHIPA and EMR usage (Jane).

Responsibilities

  • Conduct psychoeducational, ADHD, autism, gifted, and learning disability assessments for children and adolescents including intake, testing, scoring, and interpretation.
  • Choose the right test battery for each referral question rather than a fixed template.
  • Write clear, parent-friendly reports with actionable school recommendations.
  • Deliver feedback sessions that help families understand their child beyond scores.
  • Carry a therapy caseload with children and teens addressing anxiety, ADHD, emotional regulation, and school refusal.
  • Consult with social workers, psychotherapists, and occupational therapists on shared clients.
  • Liaise with schools, physicians, and other providers with family consent.
  • Help shape the assessment service growth: intake criteria, waitlist policy, fee structure, and future services.
