Job description

Diamond Head Motors is a full-service automotive repair and tire shop for automobiles and light duty trucks, located in Squamish, British Columbia. Squamish, located 45 minutes north of Vancouver, is home to hiking, water wind sports, and world-famous climbing and biking opportunities, plus other recreational and cultural activities.

We are recruiting for Automotive Technicians to join our team.

Job duties:

  • Review work orders and clarify scope of work
  • Examine vehicles during operation and conduct road tests and computerized diagnostics to pinpoint issues in mechanical and electronic systems
  • Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of automotive systems including fuel system, brakes, steering and suspension, engine and drive train, emission control and exhaust, cooling and climate control, and electrical and electronic systems using hand tools and other specialized automotive repair equipment
  • Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer's performance specification
  • Carry out routine upkeep tasks like oil and filter replacements, lubrication services, and system tune-ups
  • Advise customers on work performed, general vehicle condition and future repair requirements
  • Complete multi-point vehicle inspections
  • Communicate clearly with supervisor/service advisors.

Job requirements:

  • Completion of a four-year automotive service technician apprenticeship program or a combination of over one year of work experience and industry courses in automotive technology or related educational background is required.
  • Experience working on both North American and Import vehicles is an asset.
  • Verbal and written English language skills are essential.
