Job summary

Midas is seeking an automotive technician to join our Durham Region service center. The role involves diagnostics, repair, and maintenance across vehicle systems in a full-service facility.

Candidates must hold a Provincial Certificate of Qualification, have a valid driver's license, and be comfortable working independently and with peers. We value safety, productivity, and a collaborative approach to servicing both import and domestic vehicles.

Qualifications

• Ability to repair vehicles independently, while also having experience working well in a team environment.
• Knowledge of brakes, exhaust, suspension, tires and engine diagnostics.
• Track record of high personal productivity.
• Adherence to safety and environmental standards for repair facilities.
• Experience using lifts, tire changing equipment, alignment machines and diagnostic tools.

Responsibilities

• Diagnostics using state-of-the-art computer systems.
• Perform repairs and maintenance across a wide range of vehicle systems.
• Conduct tires, heating and air conditioning work, steering, suspension, brakes and oil services.
• The team performs safety inspections and participates in courtesy checks.
• Service both import and domestic vehicles with attention to quality.

Responsibilities

As a Midas automotive technician, you’ll be exposed to and have responsibility for performing a wide range of diagnostics, repairs and maintenance, including:

• Diagnostics using state-of-the-art computer systems
• Tires and tire repair
• Car heating and air conditioning
• Steering and suspension
• Belts and hoses
• Radiator and engine cooling systems
• Batteries, starting and charging
• Steering and suspension
• Brake repair
• Oil services
• Check engine light
• Mufflers and exhaust services
• Visual safety and courtesy inspections

Qualifications

• Ability to repair vehicles independently, while also having experience working well in a team environment
• Knowledge in automotive brakes, exhaust, suspension, tires & engine diagnostics
• Track record of high personal productivity
• Knowledge of, and adherence to, safety and environmental standards for repair facilities
• Experience using shop equipment such as lifts, tire changing equipment, alignment machines and diagnostic tools
• Provincial Certificate of Qualification
• Valid driver’s license
• Own tools/equipment (diagnostic scanner / tools preferred also)
• Able to service both import and domestic vehicles
