As an Automotive Technician, a typical day might include the following :

  1. Diagnose the cause of any malfunction and perform repair to shop specifications
  2. Review damage reports, prepare and review repair cost estimates, and plan work to be performed
  3. Diagnose and effect repairs of transmissions, clutches, front/rear axles, differentials, brake systems, drive lines, etc.
  4. Diagnose cause of malfunction, utilizing all available resources
  5. Repair or replace mechanical units or components
  6. Maintain records of maintenance performed, parts, and supplies used
  7. Perform work specified on maintenance and repair orders efficiently and in accordance with dealership and/or factory standards
  8. Explain mechanical diagnoses and required repairs in a non-technical manner to service advisors and customers
  9. Coach and instruct apprentices
  10. Follow warranty policies and procedures on all warranty work
  11. Inspect repaired vehicles for proper completion of work, dimensional accuracy, and overall appearance of paint job
  12. Inspect and test used vehicles and record findings for necessary repairs
  13. Continuously learn new technical information and techniques in formal training sessions to stay abreast of rapidly changing technology

This position might be right for you if :

  • Must have a valid Automotive Technician License (310s)
  • A valid G class license with a clean driver’s abstract
  • Minimum 3 years of similar work experience within the Automotive Industry
  • Must be detail-oriented
  • Highly efficient and extremely organized
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be a team player
  • Excellent time management skills with attention to detail
  • High level of motivation, energy, and strong customer service skills
