Job summary

JV Driver Group is seeking a Journeyman Automotive Service Technician for site work in Kitimat, BC. The role encompasses diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of light vehicles and diesel equipment with a strong emphasis on safety and teamwork.

The successful candidate will have Red Seal (or provincial equivalent) and valid driver’s license, plus the ability to complete pre-access training and drug/alcohol testing.

Qualifications

  • Completion of Journeyman Automotive Service Technician Program (Red Seal if outside province of British Columbia).
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Committed to working in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills required.
  • Good analytical ability and manual dexterity.
  • Must have valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
  • Must complete all pre-access training prior to mobilization.
  • Must successfully pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of light vehicles, diesel equipment, and off-highway vehicles.
  • Inspecting frame, steering, suspension, hydraulic, and air brake systems.
  • Diagnosing and repairing powertrain, electrical, and air conditioning systems.
  • Using diesel diagnostic software to troubleshoot vehicles.
  • Complete daily paperwork and participate in toolbox talks.
  • Promote and adhere to the company’s safety program.
  • Attend daily and weekly safety meetings and inspections.
  • Work location: Kitimat, BC with 14 days on / 7 days off rotation.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety, light vehicles, small/medium diesel equipment, and off-highway vehicles not limited to:
  • Frame, steering and suspension systems – light duty, truck and transport & off-road
  • Hydraulic & air brake systems
  • Power train systems – truck and transport & off-road
  • Air conditioning systems
  • Vehicle electric diagnosis and failure analysis
  • Electronic and electrical systems
  • Charging & cranking systems
  • Use of Diesel Diagnostic Software
  • Working on all makes/models of construction support equipment.
  • Complete daily paperwork and participate in toolbox talks.
  • Promote, execute, and adhere to the company’s safety program.
  • Attend daily and weekly safety meetings and inspections.
  • Other duties as required.

Work Location, Travel & Accommodation:
  • Location: Kitimat, British Columbia
  • Schedule: 14 days on / 7 days off rotation
  • Shift: Day Shift
  • Charter flights provided (Specific Flight Hubs Apply)
  • Transportation available for local residents
