Job description

MFM Limited Partnership is currently seeking skilled and qualified candidates for the position of Automotive Service Technician (AST) to join our operations at Kearl Lake. MFM Limited Partnership, a Mikisew Group company, provides comprehensive client services in vehicle inspection and light-duty repair services.

Schedule

14 days on, 14 days off, 11.50 hours per day. Work is conducted under an Hours of Work Averaging Arrangement (HWAA) - formerly known as a Compressed Work Week.

Work Location

The position will be based at the Kearl Lake facility, located north of Fort McMurray, AB.

This is a Fly In/Fly Out opportunity with camp/accommodations provided. Flights are provided from the hub centers of Edmonton, AB, and Calgary, AB, with direct flights to the site. Workers are responsible for travel to/from the travel hubs and their residence.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Perform repair work and routine maintenance on light duty vehicles and equipment.
  2. Check light duty equipment such as trucks, vans, cars, and support equipment for proper performance and inspect for faults and malfunctions.
  3. Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine the extent of repair required.
  4. Adjust, repair, or replace defective parts, components, or systems.
  5. Complete service reports.
  6. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  1. Journeyperson Automotive Service Technician (AST).
  2. Light Duty Technician Certification. Red Seal Certification preferred.
  3. Valid Class 5 Driver's License and a clean driver’s abstract (Mandatory).
  4. First Aid Certification required.
  5. At least 5 years of experience working in a light-duty automotive facility servicing light vehicles and support equipment.
  6. Candidates are responsible for providing their own general tools; a tool allowance is included in the compensation package.
