Job summary

Superior Welding & Contracting Inc. is seeking an Automotive Service Technician Apprentice in Bruce Mines, Ontario.

This full-time role involves reviewing work orders, diagnosing faults with computerized devices, and performing repairs across a wide range of vehicle systems. The ideal candidate will have secondary education or a vocational program, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to safely use hand and power tools.

Qualifications

  • Completion of secondary school or vocational program is required.
  • Mechanical aptitude and interest in automotive repair.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools safely.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Good organizational and time-management skills.
  • Willingness to learn and develop trade skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding shop environment.

Responsibilities

  • Review work orders and discuss work with supervisor.
  • Inspect motor in operation, road test motor vehicle, and diagnose faults with diagnostic devices.
  • Adjust, repair or replace parts across automotive systems using hand tools and specialized repair equipment.
  • Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer specifications.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance such as oil changes and tune ups.
  • Advise customers on work performed and future repair requirements.

Job Description
  • Review work orders and discuss work with supervisor
  • Inspect motor in operation, road test motor vehicle, and test automotive systems and components using computerized diagnostic and other testing devices to diagnose and isolate faults
  • Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of automotive systems including fuel system, brakes, steering and suspension, engine and drive train, emission control and exhaust, cooling and climate control, and electrical and electronic systems using hand tools and other specialized automotive repair equipment
  • Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer's performance specifications
  • Perform scheduled maintenance service, such as oil changes, lubrications and tune ups
  • Advise customers on work performed, general vehicle condition and future repair requirements.
Required Skills
