Job summary

Canadian Tire in Oakville is seeking an Automotive Service Technician to perform diagnostics, repair and routine maintenance on commercial transport truck and automotive systems at our on-site shop. You will review work orders, test systems and ensure work meets manufacturer specifications.

The ideal candidate holds Automotive Service Technician Trade Certification with Red Seal, has 2–3 years of relevant experience, and can provide quality customer service while documenting work performed.

Qualifications

• Secondary school graduation certificate.
• 2–3 years of experience in automotive service.

Responsibilities

• Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of commercial transport truck systems
• Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions
• Review work orders
• Test automotive systems and components
• Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of automotive systems
• Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of truck-trailer systems
• Repair or replace mechanical units or components
• Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer's specifications
• Estimate parts and labour cost to perform vehicle maintenance and repairs
• Perform scheduled maintenance service
• Complete reports to record problems and work performed
• Provide customer service
