Job summary

Lounsbury Chevrolet in Miramichi is seeking an Apprentice or Licensed Automotive Service Technician to join our team. This is a permanent, full-time role with standard hours Monday through Friday from 8am to 4:30pm.

Heavy-Duty Truck Technicians are welcome to apply and bring their valuable experience. The successful candidate will perform basic vehicle maintenance, diagnose issues, and contribute to timely repairs while upholding safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Apprentices must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Or, Licensed Automotive Service Technician certification from an accredited post-secondary institution, or enrollment in a recognized apprenticeship program.
• Graduates of a Heavy Equipment Service Technician program are also encouraged to apply.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driver’s abstract.

Responsibilities

• Basic vehicle maintenance: tire rotations and oil changes, diagnosing complex problems, and planning and executing vehicle repairs.
• Isolate the systems or components that might have caused the problem.
• Drive the vehicle for testing purposes or use various equipment, including hand-held and onboard compression gauges or diagnostic computers.
• Repair or replace worn parts ahead of the vehicle's breakdown or damage.
• Maintain efficiency and accuracy in diagnosing as well as repairing vehicles.
