Job summary

Schaeffler Motion Tech CA is seeking a Purchasing professional to lead complex automotive sourcing projects from Chatham, Ontario, or Auburn Hills, MI. You will define sourcing strategies, manage cross-functional teams, and drive cost reductions while ensuring on-time project launches and optimal BOMs.

The role requires a minimum of 3 years in automotive purchasing, travel up to 20%, and fluency in English.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, and/or Engineering.
• Minimum of 3 years of automotive purchasing experience.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% domestically and internationally; valid passport.
• Fluency in English.
• Ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.

Responsibilities

• Organize complex purchasing projects with extensive requirements and negotiation processes.
• Define sourcing activities and execute project-related purchasing activities (incl. Make-or-Buy) for the business unit.
• Create, manage, and support new project acquisitions from a purchasing perspective and provide costed BOMs.
• Define and execute strategy on new awarded business in a project tracker to meet targets.
• Implement advanced negotiation concepts on sourcing to maximize benefit.
• Recommend component derivatives and production process innovations to the project team.
