Job Description:

UPS is seeking an Automotive Fleet Apprentice to support our team of skilled mechanics and technicians in maintaining and servicing our delivery vehicle fleet. This position offers a valuable pathway to a long-term career in fleet maintenance at UPS, including eligibility for promotion to a certified Fleet Automotive Technician upon successful completion of the program.

Position Summary:

1. Job Type: Full-Time - Permanent
2. Work Location: 12424 Dixie Rd, Inglewood
3. Workdays: Monday to Friday
4. Shift duration: 7:00 PM - 3:30 AM
5. Responsibilities and Duties:
6. Repair, inspect, and maintain UPS Fleet propane and gasoline vehicles in a regular and timely manner.
7. Operate/test company vehicles within the UPS facilities & on public roads.

Qualifications:

• Able to lift up to 70 lbs.
• Able/willing to work evening and/or night shifts.
• Able to work in a fast-paced work environment.
• Possession of essential trade tools and equipment.
• Possession of a clean driver’s abstract/record (must not be obtained more than a month ago before your interview date) showing:
  • No violations for the current year (last 12 months) and no more than 2 violations for the previous 3-year period (last 36 months)
  • No accidents and maximum 5 demerit points for the previous 3-year period (last 36 months)
• Strong organizational skills.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Starting at $18.34 per hour
• Apprenticeship levels with provided documentation:
  • Level 1: $18.34
  • Level 2: $21.82
  • Level 3: $24.87
  • Level 4: $26.53
  • Level 5: $29.43
• Weekly pay (every Friday).
• Automatic pay progression as per the existing union Collective Agreement.
• Paid vacation:
  • 2 weeks after 1 year of service
  • 3 weeks after 5 years of service
  • 4 weeks after 10 years of service
  • 5 weeks after 20 years of service
  • 6 weeks after 25 years of service
