Job Description
We are currently recruiting an experienced Test Lab Engineer – Road Test Simulation to join our team supporting our client in the automotive industry.
Responsibilities
- Set up and conduct durability tests using MTS real-time hydraulically actuated simulators and data acquisition systems
- Coordinate test specimen build
- Set up data acquisition systems
- Perform simulator performance tuning, operation, and data processing
- Conduct daily durability test inspections and reporting, communicate test results to Product Engineering
- Attend test issue reporting meetings and assist in durability issue investigations
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aeronautical Engineering from an accredited university (consideration given to candidates with mechanical/technician backgrounds)
- 2-5 years of engineering experience in a testing environment within the automotive industry (considering co-op students from ARDC)
- New graduates with related co-op experience are also considered
- Strong time management, leadership, planning, and follow-up skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Experience with data acquisition equipment and transducers such as accelerometers, load cells, and strain gauges
- Understanding of damage severity analysis and stress-life/load-life calculations
- Proficiency with MTS RPC Pro and FlexTest software
- Good understanding of damage severity concepts
- Competency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, VBA
- Experience working in a unionized environment
- Experience with servo-hydraulic systems, troubleshooting, and tuning
- Detail-oriented with proven project leadership skills
- Ability to coordinate and instruct mechanics in specimen builds, installations, repairs, and teardowns
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aeronautical Engineering
- Hydraulically actuated testing experience using MTS RPC Pro / FlexTest software
- Experience with nCode and Somat eDAQ equipment
- Knowledge of strain gauge theory and application
Additional Notes
- Willingness to travel to the USA without restrictions, starting from the employment date
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record required for driving company vehicle
- Shift schedule: Afternoons, midnight shifts, and weekends on rotation basis
