Automotive Assistant Payroll Manager, Langley, BC

LOCATION:

  • Langley, BC
  • Domestic
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Process and oversee payroll for multiple dealership locations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and adherence to company policies and government regulations.
  • Maintain and update payroll records including wages, tax withholdings, benefits, and other employee compensation data.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, provincial, and local labor laws, including timely tax calculations, filings, and government reporting.
  • Coordinate with Human Resources to administer benefit programs, ensuring correct deductions and contributions are reflected in payroll.
  • Respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees and managers, delivering exceptional service while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Payroll Accuracy Rate: Achieve and maintain a high percentage of error-free pay runs and tax submissions.
  • Timeliness of Payroll Processing: Ensure all payroll cycles are processed within established deadlines.
  • Compliance Audit Results: Meet or exceed standards in internal and external audits by adhering to all relevant payroll laws and policies.
  • Team Member Satisfaction: Drive high satisfaction ratings from employees through accurate, timely, and responsive payroll support.
  • Cost Efficiency: Streamline payroll operations to improve processing efficiency and reduce operational costs.
PROFICIENCIES:
  • Microsoft Office Suite: Advanced knowledge of Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Accounting Software: Hands-on experience with payroll systems such as Payworks, ADP, or similar platforms.
  • Basic Accounting Principles: Understanding of accounting fundamentals related to payroll functions.
  • Payroll Expertise: Formal training or extensive payroll experience, ideally supporting multiple entities and unionized environments.
  • Problem Solving & Customer Service: Strong analytical abilities combined with a commitment to delivering high-quality service to internal stakeholders.
PAY:
  • Annual Salary: $60,000 - $75,000 (before statutory deductions)
    • Note: Final compensation will be based on experience, skill level, and demonstrated payroll expertise
  • Benefits after 90 Days
  • 2 weeks' vacation after 1st year
  • Relocation assistance is available
