Automotive Accounting & Controlling Assistant
The Accounting and Controlling Assistant works with the Controller to ensure accurate and efficient reporting/accounting functions are completed for Porsche Centre North Toronto.
- Responsible for posting all New and Pre-Owned vehicle deals including coordinating month end close with sales managers to ensure deals are received and posted within the month end cut-off.
Team Responsibilities (cross-training and back-up)
- Perform various reconciliations including: bank statements, accounts receivable, accounts payable, manufacturers’ statements and floor plan.
- Prepare accounts payable reports and maintain a monthly list of unpaid accounts.
- Prepare the accounts payable cheques and follow up on all outstanding amounts.
- Prepare bank deposits and complete the cash control worksheet, on a daily basis.
- Maintain a petty cash system.
- Monitor cash and Credit card clearing account.
- Process charge account payments.
- Distribute all invoices received to respective departments for authorization.
- Responsible for reconciling the number of deals booked and the gross profit on each deal with the sales managers.
- Responsible for the monthly reconciliation of inventory schedules, the finance receivable schedule and the aftermarket sales schedule to ensure all are reconciled prior to month end close.
- Reconciling the commission account and send bi-weekly reconciled payroll.
- Filing the deal jackets.
- Posting dealer trade deals, after-market sales and other misc. transactions.
- Reconciling the profit sheet to the financial statement.
- Responsible for posting all new factory-ordered vehicle inventory, vehicle funding.
- Cheque processing related to deals.
- Update cheque register and prepare for upload.
- Prepare wire transfer requests to PFSC and post them.
- Month-end Inventory reporting and month-end closing.
- Prepare monthly account analysis report.
- Prepare various ad-hoc account analysis and participate in the monthly closing of accounts.
- Assist with RICS audit and other compliance reporting.
- Conduct and monitor Business Partner Checks (BPC).
- Reporting the claim on our demo/loaners.
- Submitting the claim and Following up.
- Reviewing the settlement and accepting it.
- Oversee annual renewal of Insurance policy and renewal of plates.
Basic qualifications and skills
- Previous accounting experience in a dealership.
- Knowledge of Generally accepted accounting principles.
- Computer proficiency including the ability to operate spreadsheet, word processing.
- Advance level excel skills.
- Excellent numeracy skills, and sound analyzing skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and team building skills.
- Demonstrate effective verbal, listening, and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain high level of accuracy.
