We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Automation Tester to join our dynamic team. The incumbent will be part of a dynamic team testing a large-scale, high-performance market surveillance system to monitor financial exchanges and ATS’s in Canada. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in software testing, with a strong focus on automation. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing automated test scripts to ensure the quality and reliability of our software products.

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Automation Tester to join our dynamic team. The incumbent will be part of a dynamic team testing a large-scale, high-performance market surveillance system to monitor financial exchanges and ATS’s in Canada. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in software testing, with a strong focus on automation. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing automated test scripts to ensure the quality and reliability of our software products.
Core Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using tools such as Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, or similar.
- Collaborate with the development team to understand requirements and identify test scenarios.
- Execute automated test cases and analyze results to identify defects and ensure software quality.
- Perform and automate regression testing to ensure existing functionality is not affected by new changes.
- Identify, document, and track bugs using Azure DevOps. Collaborate with the development team to prioritize and resolve issues, ensuring that all bugs are addressed in a timely manner.
- Develop and maintain test cases within Azure DevOps. Link test cases to corresponding work items to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
- Integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline using Azure DevOps. Monitor test results and report any issues or failures.
- Generate and analyze reports on work items and bug status, test coverage, and other key metrics using Azure DevOps dashboards.
- Report and track defects, and work closely with developers to resolve issues.
- Participate in code reviews and provide feedback on testability and quality.
- Continuously improve and optimize the automation framework and testing processes.
- Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging technologies in software testing.
Key Skills and Competencies:Must-haves
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of software testing experience, focusing on automation.
- Proficiency in automation testing tools such as Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, or similar.
- Strong knowledge of programming languages such as Java, Python, or C#.
- Strong technical knowledge in testing methodologies, design and implementation, and comprehensive test case development
- Experience with version control systems like Git.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins or Bamboo.
- Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps.
- Experience with messaging protocols and translation & mapping techniques.
- Experience with databases, data mapping, and query & reporting tools
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Excellent Communication, documentation and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of market data and trading systems
- Strong understanding of Agile methodology, SDLC and STLC principles
- Good to have - Business Analyst experience
- Good to have - ISTQB or equivalent certified
- Good to have - Experience with financial communications protocols (FIX 4.2, FIX 4.4 or FIX 5.0)
