Qualifications

  • Years of experience as an Automation or Electrical Engineering Technologist in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Knowledge in industrial networking (e.g., Profibus, Ethernet, DeviceNet, ControlNet, etc.).
  • Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD, and various Automation software.

This position operates on a continental rotating schedule

Are you a persistent person who takes on challenges and digs into details? Do you like writing PLC and HMI code, designing, and troubleshooting automation and electronic systems? Do you like working in a rugged, but exciting environment? The Automation Technologist will be responsible for troubleshooting electrical malfunctions and performing preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical equipment. They will also document and implement changes to PLC programs, electrical schematics, AC / DC drives, HMI’s, and various sensors / transducers.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES :

Responsible for analysis of electrical malfunctions or failure of industrial machinery.

Assists in developing preventive and corrective maintenance routines.

Reduce / eliminate electrical related production delays and facilitate improvement activities with production and maintenance departments.

Installs and commissions new electrical equipment and components.

Directs staff performing routine electrical installation and maintenance duties.

Plans, directs, and records results of periodic electrical testing, and recommends or initiates modification or replacement of equipment which fails to meet acceptable operating standards.

Assists in coordinating contractor activities.

Develops standardized forms, work instructions, procedures, job aids, and tool kits.

Actively participate in all safety programs to improve departmental well-being.

Promote safety and environmental consciousness throughout the facility.

  • Ensure a clean and safe work environment.

What YOU HAVE to offer :

Post-secondary education in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Automation, or related field.

  • Years of experience as an Automation or Electrical Engineering Technologist in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Knowledge in industrial networking (e.g., Profibus, Ethernet, DeviceNet, ControlNet, etc.).

    Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD, Wonderware, and various other Automation software.

    Experience with Modicon and Allen Bradley PLCs is preferred.

    MUST be able to work a rotating schedule.
