Role

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

We are seeking a talented Automation Technologist to join our Automation Engineering team. In this role you will work closely with manufacturing and automation engineers to deploy improved manufacturing/assembly processes into the production environment.

Responsibilities

• Build and deploy automated assembly equipment/work cell structures for production processes.
• Lead the electrical panel builds and installations for automated systems.
• Support automation engineers on programming needs for PLCs, HMIs, servos, universal robots etc.
• Contribute to the mechanical and control system designs for these systems.
• Support the maintenance team in troubleshooting activities associated with automation, electrical and safety systems for production equipment.
• Contribute to the training documentation for new processes/equipment.
• Assist in training production and maintenance personnel to run and maintain the equipment.
• Support new process/equipment introduction and handover activities for production.
  
  

Who You Are

Basic Qualifications:

• Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electro/Mechanical Technology, or Industrial Engineering
• 2+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a manual to semi-automated production setting
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building and developing automated processes
• Experience installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing manufacturing industrial machinery
  
  

Skills

• Demonstrated strong analytical and communication skills
• Excellent teamwork required for a cross functional setting
