Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 1+ years of experience in special purpose equipment and/or automation design.
• Experience with robotic cells and assembly systems is an asset.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks is required.

Responsibilities

• Designing mechanical systems for robots, assembly systems, production gauges, error proofs, and assembly jigs.
• Analyzing engineering drawings and specifications to determine shape, dimensions, hardness, etc., in equipment development.
• Performing engineering calculations related to strength of materials, speeds, horsepower, temperature, pressure, force, etc.
• Ensuring designs comply with applicable standards (machine safety, GAA, customer-specific).
• Reviewing electrical requirements with electrical designers and machine operations with the project team.
• Producing working drawings, detail drawings, and bills of materials using SolidWorks.
• Assisting manufacturing team during build, debug, and integration.
