Johnson Electric is seeking an Automation Project Specialist (Robotics/PLC Service) in Mississauga, onsite. The role focuses on programming, commissioning, and supporting automation systems across multiple sites. Competitive CAD CAD?

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in automation or controls environment.
• Expert knowledge of PLC programming (Omron NJ, Allen Bradley).
• Experience with robot programming (Fanuc, Yaskawa, KUKA).
• Strong understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Experience with industrial controls, automation systems, and troubleshooting.
• Must be able to train first weeks at Ancaster facility before moving to Mississauga.

Responsibilities

• Program, debug, and commission PLCs, HMIs, robotics, and motion systems.
• Troubleshoot and optimize robotic cells, including vision and force monitoring systems.
• Support design, build, and startup of automation equipment and assembly lines.
• Modify existing production equipment and develop new automation solutions.
• Configure industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, EtherCAT).
• Develop LabVIEW-based programs for automation systems.
• Collaborate with mechanical and electrical teams during design and implementation.
• Support equipment commissioning at customer sites and provide technical support.
• Prepare technical documentation including manuals, setup procedures, and schematics.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance.
