MPE, a division of Englobe, is seeking an Automation and Controls Professional to join our team in Calgary.

As an automation professional, you will share our vision to provide industry-leading services. A background in automation and control system planning, design, programming, and maintenance is required, along with at least three years of experience. The successful applicant will work with our Automation and Controls team in Calgary, Alberta.

Your Contribution

Your main responsibilities

• Program and test PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems;
• On-site commissioning and start-up;
• Support clients by troubleshooting control systems remotely or on-site;
• Coordinate with contractors;
• Assess existing control systems;
• Develop upgrade strategies;
• Implement secure network and remote access schemes;
• Educate clients.

Your Profile

What makes you unique

• Degree or Diploma in a related field from an accredited institution;
• At least 3 years of experience in automation and controls;
• Excellent communication skills;
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills;
• Background in electrical and instrumentation systems;
• Experience with automation software and hardware such as Allen Bradley, Schneider, Siemens, Emerson, Horner, Automation Direct PLCs; VTScada, iFIX, Ignition, FactoryTalk, AVEVA SCADA software; Red Lion, Maple, Allen Bradley, Automation Direct HMIs; cellular and spread spectrum radio communication; control system networking, VPN, routers, switches, OT infrastructure;
• Experience working in a multidisciplinary engineering team;
• Willingness to travel for maintenance and commissioning tasks.

The individual must be self-motivated with good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team. Salary depends on experience.
