Suncor Energy Inc. in Fort McMurray, Alberta is seeking a Systems/Network Administrator to support OT systems and networks. You will install, monitor, and troubleshoot critical infrastructure to ensure reliable, secure operations.

Relocation assistance is provided and a 40-hour work week is standard. Based at our Base Plant Mine, you’ll collaborate with stakeholders, manage changes, and respond to incidents, including after-hours on-call support.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.
• 5–10 years' experience as Systems and Network administrator.
• Ability to work with stakeholders on technical decisions.

We’re looking for a skilled Systems/Network Administrator to support critical infrastructure by installing, monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting Operational Technology (OT) systems and networks. Minimum Requirements:

• Degree or diploma in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent with 5-10 years' work experience as a Systems and Network administrator
• Able to identify complex problems and review related information to develop, evaluate and implement solutions
• Ability to work with and influence stakeholders on technical decisions
• Experience with troubleshooting cabling right up to application issues
• Knowledge configuring and supporting OT networking and firewalls
• Understanding of cybersecurity and best practices in OT environments

Responsibilities:

• Perform work on OT systems for both new installations / expansions and maintain the existing systems
• Perform daily system monitoring using management applications
• Build, install and commission new systems to support growth of the infrastructure and maintain existing infrastructure with reliability and cybersecurity
• Troubleshoot system and network issues, and provide solutions to problems, including after hours on-call support
• Ensure system reliability through scheduled preventative maintenance activities and document new technical procedures or update existing
• Adhere to and apply our safety policies, standards, and values in the execution of your work
• Employs management of change in the implementation process to achieve a high level of buy in for recommendations from all involved parties

Location and other key details:

You will work out of our Base Plant Mine in Fort McMurray, Alberta. Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs. Our business professional roles follow internal compensation guidelines, and the pay band will generally be based years of experience and scope of work. If you reside outside of Fort McMurray, relocation of your primary residence to within 60 km of Fort McMurray is mandatory. Relocation support will be provided; we offer competitive housing assistance to eligible individuals.
