Job summary

Suncor Energy Inc. is seeking an Automation Advisor to support critical OT infrastructure at the Fort McMurray Base Plant. The role emphasizes installing, monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting OT systems and networks to deliver reliable, secure operations.

You will work with stakeholders to solve technical challenges, participate in change management, and ensure cybersecurity best practices are applied across all systems. Relocation support is available for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent with 5-10 years' work experience as a Systems and Network administrator.
• Experience troubleshooting cabling up to application issues.
• Knowledge configuring and supporting OT networking and firewalls; understanding cybersecurity best practices in OT environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform work on OT systems for both new installations/expansions and maintain the existing systems.
• Perform daily system monitoring using management applications.
• Build, install and commission new systems to support growth of the infrastructure and maintain existing infrastructure with reliability and cybersecurity.
• Troubleshoot system and network issues, and provide solutions, including after hours on-call support.
• Ensure system reliability through scheduled preventative maintenance activities and document new technical procedures or update existing.
• Adhere to and apply safety policies, standards, and values in the execution of your work.
• Employs management of change in the implementation process to achieve a high level of buy in for recommendations from all involved parties.
