  • Hands-on experience in construction trades (carpentry, installation, finishing).
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools.
  • Strong troubleshooting for mechanical and electrical components.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organization.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

  • Install, troubleshoot, and repair automatic door systems per manufacturer specs and safety standards.
  • Work with sliding doors, swing operators (ADOs), revolving doors, drive-thru windows, and security revolvers.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, door schedules, and drawings.
  • Perform site prep and finishing work (framing, carpentry, caulking) as required.
  • Diagnose and repair sensors, control systems, and hardware components.
  • Restore and refurbish existing door systems to improve performance and longevity.
  • Maintain accurate service records, including materials and labour.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and with a professional finish.

What You’ll Do
  • Install, troubleshoot, and repair automatic door systems in line with manufacturer specifications and safety standards
  • Work with systems including sliding doors, swing operators (ADOs), revolving doors, drive-thru windows, and security revolvers

What You Bring
  • Proven experience as an Automatic Door Technician or similar role

  • Proficiency with hand and power tools
  • Strong troubleshooting skills (mechanical and electrical systems)

  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
Certifications & Requirements (Preferred / Required)
  • American Association of Automatic Door Manufacturers (AAADM) Certification or willingness to obtain
  • Working at Heights Certification (Ontario compliant)
  • Occupational Health & Safety Training (e.g., OHSA awareness)
  • Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving abstract
  • Manufacturer-specific training or certifications (e.g., automatic door system brands) considered a strong asset
  • Ability to pass background checks where required for secure job sites
