Position Summary:

CSN Collision is looking for an Auto Body Technician to join our team. The Auto Body Technician must be able to take a vehicle in a damaged state and repair or restore it to its original structural integrity, function, and appearance. The incumbent should be detail-oriented and capable of multitasking to accommodate shifting priorities.

Primary Objectives of the Auto Body (Collision Repair) Technician:

  1. Review damage reports and estimates of repair costs, and plan work accordingly.
  2. Examine collision damage thoroughly, including the vehicle exterior, power accessories, and warning lights, and identify any overlooked damages.
  3. Perform structural and complete body repairs, including replacing front end components, doors, frames, and underbody components.
  4. Straighten bent frames using pulling and anchoring equipment, and repair dents and defects.
  5. Weld on vehicles using MIG and spot welders.
  6. Fully dismantle damaged areas to identify all hidden damages early in the repair process.
  7. File, grind, and sand repaired surfaces, and prepare surfaces for painting.
  8. Mask and tape surfaces, apply primers, and repaint surfaces.
  9. Use soldering equipment or plastic fillers to fill holes, dents, and seams.
  10. Restore vehicles to factory specifications.
  11. Inspect repaired vehicles and perform test drives to ensure proper handling.
  12. Read and understand repair estimates and procedures.
  13. Work with various metals, plastics, glass, electrical, and mechanical parts.
  14. Use frame and measuring equipment, and disassemble/reassemble vehicles.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  1. At least 3+ years of auto body repair and refinishing experience.
  2. Auto Body Collision and Damage Repairer (310B) Red Seal License preferred.
  3. Certifications such as I-Car and OEM are favorable.
  4. I-Car welding certification is a plus.
  5. Ability to lift up to 100 lbs, and work standing, sitting, reaching.
  6. Valid driver's license and own tools and safety footwear.
  7. Up-to-date compliance training (AODA, WHMIS, etc.) and knowledge of PIPEDA.
  8. 3-5 years of experience with Mitchell/Audatex.
