Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience with auto repairs and diagnostics.
  • Valid driver’s license (Class 5); Class 1 or 3 is a plus.
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.

Job description

Holland Power Services Inc., a subsidiary of Alectra Inc., is a leading power line restoration company in North America with operations in New Brunswick, Ontario, Quebec, and New England. We specialize in emergency power restoration, working closely with utility contractors to ensure swift and efficient recovery during storm events.

We are currently seeking a skilled Auto Mechanic to join our Hanwell, NB location. You’ll be part of a great team of experienced mechanics working in a newly built, fully equipped garage that supports a diverse fleet of light and medium-duty vehicles used in line maintenance and construction and power restoration work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on company vehicles, including pickup trucks, trailers, and light service equipment
  • Troubleshoot and repair brake, suspension, steering, and electrical systems
  • Complete work orders and service records accurately and on time
  • Ensure all work meets safety and regulatory standards
  • Support readiness for emergency deployments and storm response operations
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

Qualifications:

  • Journeyperson status or certification in Automotive Service (or working toward it)
  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience with auto repairs and diagnostics
  • Valid driver’s license (Class 5); Class 1 or 3 considered an asset
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Experience with fleet vehicles or light-duty trucks is a plus
  • Comfortable using a computer to complete work tasks such as reviewing work orders, entering service data, and accessing manuals or diagnostic software.
  • Experience with Office 365 (Outlook,Teams, Word, Excel) is an asset.
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs, working on vehicles in various positions, and occasionally outdoors
