Job Description and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Processor is responsible for processing vehicles, draining fluids from cars, and removing non-ferrous materials.

  1. Drain appropriate automobile fluids (gasoline, antifreeze, etc.) to assist with the processing of vehicles
  2. Remove the catalytic converter from vehicles as needed
  3. Notifies appropriate personnel of any procedural abnormalities
  4. Keeps work area clean
  5. Observes and follows all safety rules and regulations
  6. Remove tires and rims from vehicles
Requirements
  1. High School or equivalent
  2. No experience necessary but previous work experience in a manufacturing, production, or similar scrap yard/auto part environment will be considered an asset
  3. Must have Class 5 license to drive the yard vehicle - Must have reliable transportation to and from work (remote location, not accessible by bus)
  4. Knowledge of automotive components is an asset
  5. Able to meet the physical demands of the position including standing, walking, sitting, climbing, crawling, kneeling, bending, moderate to heavy lifting, and pushing and pulling up to 50 pounds throughout the day
  6. Willing and able to work in variable weather conditions including hot, dry summer conditions and cold, harsh winter conditions
  7. Willing and able to work in an environment subject to fluctuations in dust, odors, fumes, and noise
  8. Organized and able to prioritize competing priorities
  9. Strong communication skills – communicates clearly and concisely, verbally, over mobile radio devices, and in writing
  10. Polite and friendly with a customer service orientation
  11. Strong work ethic – uses time efficiently
  12. Able to work with minimal supervision/general oversight
