Western is seeking an ambitious auto body technician to join our team. The role will include both auto body repair work and spray painting of equipment and vehicles. The successful candidate will work in our industrial shop in Barrie, Ontario. They shall have the ability to prioritize ongoing projects and tasks to meet deadlines, with attention to detail and problem solving. The successful candidate will support Western’s goal to deliver high-quality services and professional repairs.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Repair damage to the exterior of vehicles.
- Restore vehicles after any minor or major collision.
- Restore paint and/or apply paint to match factory paint colours.
- Replace bumpers, damaged body panels, and other components of vehicles.
- Preparation for paint and spraying various light truck components and machinery.
- Notify management of additional repairs needed, and any difficulties that may prevent a high-quality job from being completed.
Qualifications:
- Preference will be given to candidates with Auto Body Repairer (310Q), or Auto Body and Collision Damage Repairer (310B) qualification.
- Automotive Painter (410N) or relevant experience (Asset).
- Reliable Transportation (Required).
- Experience operating machinery and forklifts (Asset).
Term, Hours of Work and Compensation:
- This is a full-time position.
- 44 hours per week.
- The role is entitled to vacation pay and paid statutory holidays.
- We expect to compensate the successful candidate at hourly rates consistent with market expectations and based on experience.
