Job summary

CSN Dundas Valley is seeking an Auto Body Technician to repair vehicles to their original structural integrity, function, and appearance. You will inspect, repair, weld, and reassemble damaged vehicles while following OEM procedures.

The role requires 3 to 5 years of experience, a Red Seal license, own tools, and a valid G-Class licence. The candidate should be detail‑oriented, able to multitask, and work with a team in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in auto body repair.
  • Must have own tools and safety footwear.
  • Valid G-Class driver’s licence required.
  • Technicians with I‑Car training are favorable.

Responsibilities

  • Review work orders and repair estimates to plan work.
  • Thoroughly examine collision damage and identify prior damages.
  • Perform structural and body repairs on front end, doors, frame and underbody.
  • Weld on vehicles with MIG welders and compression spot welders.
  • Dismantle damaged areas to identify hidden damages early in the repair cycle.
  • Follow OEM procedures and inspect repaired vehicles before test drive.

Job description

Position Summary

CSN Dundas Valley is looking for an Auto Body Technician to join our team. The Auto Body Technician must be able to take a vehicle in a damaged state and repair or restore damaged vehicles to their original structural integrity, function, and appearance. The incumbent is detail‑oriented, can multitask to accommodate shifting priorities, and reports to the General Manager.

Primary Objectives
  • Review work order and estimates of repair cost and plan work to be performed
  • Thoroughly examine collision damage – review all vehicle exterior body parts, check all power accessories (door locks, windows, mirrors), ensure the dash panel has no warning lights, and identify any prior damages overlooked on the QA checklist or supplemental damage sheet
  • Perform structural and complete body repairs: repair and replace front end components, body components, doors, frame, and underbody components; assess, repair or replace interior and exterior parts, electrical components, and vehicle accessories
  • Straighten bent frames using frame‑and‑underbody pulling and anchoring equipment; hammer out dents and other defects using blocks and hammers
  • Weld on vehicles with MIG welders and compression spot welders
  • Dismantle the damaged vehicle areas to identify hidden damages early in the repair cycle; for example, remove damaged fenders, panels, and grills using wrenches and a cutting torch, bolt or weld replacement parts into place, and repair or replace damaged windows, windshields, and sunroof
  • File, grind, and sand repaired surfaces using power tools and hand tools
  • Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents, and seams
  • Follow all OEM procedures using all data
  • Inspect repaired vehicles and test drive them for proper handling
  • Read and understand estimates and automotive repair procedures
  • Work with a variety of metals and plastics as well as glass, electrical, and mechanical parts
  • Use frame and measuring equipment; perform disassembly and reassembly of vehicles
  • Follow standardized production processes; be a great CSN ambassador
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications, Experience and Other Requirements
  • Auto Body Collision and Damage Repairer (310B) Red Seal License
  • Technicians with I‑Car training are favorable
  • Ability to carry, lift 100 lb, stand, sit, walk, and reach comfortably
  • Valid G‑Class driver’s licence required
  • 3 to 5 years of experience and knowledge of Mitchell / Audatex
  • Must have own tools and safety footwear
