Job summary

AWIN Green Lane Body Shop in Thornhill, ON is seeking a Prepper to join our automotive collision centre team. You will prepare vehicles for painting, straighten and replace parts, and ensure surfaces are ready for primer and color.

Responsibilities

• Prep and restore vehicles for painting, including straightening and replacing body parts, filling, sanding, and priming.
• Work with team to ensure surfaces are properly prepared before painting.
• Follow established SOPs and safety guidelines to maintain quality and efficiency.
• Coordinate with supervising manager and co-workers to complete tasks on schedule.

Job Purpose

Auto Body Painter Preppers work on all types of vehicles that have been in collisions. Responsibilities include straightening and replacing body parts, filling, sanding, and priming vehicles so they can be sent to the painter.

• Repairing and restoring damaged vehicles, thoroughly inspecting the vehicle and planning the repair process.
• Removes rust from metal and grease and filth from the work surface.
• Masks and protects parts which are not to be painted or primed.
• Mixes paint, according to its technical characteristics.
• Chooses and mixes the primer, to achieve the desired colour.
• Paints the surfaces, using a spray gun or brush, as required.
• Following the standard operating procedure of the company.
• Upholding the quality and standards of the services of the organization.

Salary Range: Fully commission position
