Job summary

Boyd Autobody & Glass is seeking an Auto Body Apprentice (minimum Level 2) to join our Winnipeg area team. You will shadow a licensed Auto Body Technician, repair minor vehicle damage, and contribute to KPIs while learning our WOW standards.

We offer training, career growth, and a comprehensive benefits package. Compensation is $19–$24 per hour, commensurate with skill and experience.

Qualifications

• Completion of Auto Body Repair Program is required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum 1 year of Auto Body Technician experience is preferred.
• Welding experience in MIG and TIG is required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure consistent execution of WOW plan.
• Repair vehicles per insurance guidelines and quality standards.
• Inspect and disassemble to identify damages at repair start.
• Repair minor damage to body panels.
• Repair or replace interior and exterior parts and electrical components.
• Reassemble vehicle after repairs.
• Inspect finished work for quality standards.
• Shadow a Licensed Auto Body Technician to perform repairs.
• Pursue learning opportunities and apply new knowledge to tasks.

Job Description:

We are looking for Auto Body Apprentices, minimum Level 2, to join our team in the Winnipeg Area.

The Auto Body Apprentice repairs minor vehicle damage while shadowing a licensed Auto Body Technician. The Auto Body Apprentice works with all team members in achieving the repair facilities' KPIs.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
• Repairs vehicles as per insurance guidelines and our quality standards
• Inspect and disassemble the vehicle to determine all damages at the beginning of the repair
• Repair minor damage to vehicle’s body panels
• Repair or replace interior and exterior parts, electrical components and vehicle accessories
• Reassemble vehicle once repairs are complete
• Inspect completed work to ensure the repair is up to quality standards
• Shadow a Licensed Auto Body Technician to perform repairs
• Actively pursues learning opportunities and applies newly gained knowledge to tasks, contributing to high-quality work and continuous improvement.

Minimum Education and/or Experience Required for the Job

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Completion of Post-Secondary Education in an Auto Body Repair Program
• Minimum 1 years of Auto Body Technician experience

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Welding experience (MIG, TIG welding)

Other Requirements

• Frequently required to bend, crouch, reach, handle tools and lift approximately 50 lbs.
• You have your own toolbox
• Valid driver’s license required

Compensation Details

Hourly:

$19 - $24 per hour
