Job summary

A government organization in Yukon is seeking an Audit Financial Analyst to conduct internal audits, assess organizational programs, and support the preparation of financial statements. The ideal candidate will have a degree in business administration, practical experience in auditing, and strong skills in Excel and Power BI. This full-time, permanent position offers a competitive salary range and requires maintaining RCMP Security Clearance.

Qualifications

Job Summary and Requirements

This opportunity is for a one permanent position working 75 hours biweekly.

The Workers' Safety and Compensation Board (WSCB) administers workplace health and safety and workers' compensation in the territory. WSCB's mission is to assist workers and employers in preventing work-related physical and psychological injuries, illnesses and disabilities. The Role

Reporting to the Corporate Controller, this position is responsible for conducting internal audits and reviews of Board programs, activities, services, clients, organizations and systems. The internal audit function accurately assesses and identifies opportunities for improvement, potential business risks, deficiencies, or inefficiencies in management and financial controls and accountabilities. This position is also responsible for providing options and recommendations to address/mitigate issues or concerns, conducting follow-up reviews and participating in pre-implementation reviews of proposed systems. In addition, the position will play a key role in the year-end audit and the preparation of year-end audited financial statements.

Essential Qualifications

  • University degree or diploma in business administration, commerce or related field;
  • Practical experience in auditing and/or accounting, including experience at the process level of accounts payable, accounts receivable and other related accounting functions;
  • Significant experience using a variety of computer software applications with high level knowledge of Excel and word;
  • Experience performing internal audits and Power Bi experience would be an asset;
  • CPA designation would be an asset.
Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above may be equally considered.
