About the Role :

Our client is looking for a detail-oriented and technically inclined individual to join our team as an Audio Visual Systems Installer. This full-time role involves hands-on installation of integrated AV systems in environments such as boardrooms, meeting spaces, huddle areas, and public spaces. Ideal for someone with a background in construction, cabling, or electronics, this position offers the opportunity to build and support AV systems that make communication easy and effective.

Key Responsibilities :
  • Install and configure AV systems including displays, speakers, microphones, control panels, projectors, and more
  • Run, terminate, label, and test a variety of AV and low-voltage cabling, including CAT6 / 6A, RG6, speaker wire, control cable, and balanced audio lines (e.g., XLR). Capable of soldering connectors where required and adhering to best practices for signal integrity and cable management
  • Mount hardware securely and cleanly following drawings and scope documentation
  • Interpret and follow system schematics, floor plans, and rack elevation diagrams
  • Label, dress, and manage cabling within AV racks and closets
  • Perform basic setup and configuration of audio, video, and control systems
  • Assist with commissioning and troubleshooting during system handover
  • Collaborate with team members to complete installations efficiently and safely
Technical Skills and System Knowledge
  • Understanding of signal flow, both analog and digital
  • Familiarity with AV control protocols (e.g., RS-232, TCP / IP, IR, relays)
  • Experience working with LANs, PoE systems, and wireless point-to-point technologies
  • Knowledge of 70V and low-impedance audio systems
  • Familiarity with current AV standards including HDMI, DisplayPort, USB-C, HDBaseT, and IP-based video transmission protocols
  • Ability to safely use hand tools and termination tools
  • Experience reading and understanding AV design drawings (CAD, schematics, etc.)
Qualifications :
  • 3 to 5 years of AV installation or relevant technical experience
  • Knowledge of basic construction practices and safe work procedures
  • Excellent attention to detail and a strong sense of craftsmanship
  • Ability to work efficiently on-site, often in occupied or client-facing environments
  • Problem-solving mindset with willingness to learn and adapt
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and working on ladders or lifts when needed
  • Clear and professional communication skills
  • Valid G-class driver’s license and clean abstract
  • Must be 25 or older for insurance purposes
  • AVIXA CTS certification (or CTS-I / CTS-D), manufacturer training (e.g., Crestron, Extron, Biamp, Q-SYS), or equivalent industry credentials are considered strong assets
